Boot camps Training
Boot camps IT certification are formation where candidates of IT certifications such as Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Comp TIA a+/security+ and much more are going in a place called learning centre where they will study for 5 to 30 days, from morning to evening the objectives fixed in each certifications. It is quite intense. Often the package includes complete courseware (lecture, labs, study guide, etc.), stay, and meals. It could be done all around the world.
This article will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of attending boot camps over self study:
Boot camps advantages:
- Fastest and most focused learning method: The boot camps are conducted in a way that the candidates concentrate only on the subjects being taught and necessary to obtain the certification, from morning to evening. This makes candidates able to focus only on their studies and focus on the exams.
- The boot camps are offered by experienced and certified instructors. The instructors are aware of the tricks and difficulties of exams and can provide you with tons of good advices and recommendations. This leads to a greater success rate in the exams.
- The boot camp centres normally offer money back guarantee. Usually, you have to pass a simple test before to join the boot camp in order to be sure you are already a professional with a good grounding knowledge in the case of advanced certifications.
- A boot camp in a foreign country can permit to be away of all your daily duty and routines. It seems to be nothing but at the end of the day you saved plenty of time for further studies in your hotel. In the same time it can provide you with a relaxing atmosphere suitable for your concentration.
Boot camps disadvantages:
- The biggest disadvantage of boot camps is probably the price. Due to a full board program including teachers, labs, equipment, study guide, meals and hotel it could cost easily thousands of dollars.
- Another problem could be to let job, family, wife or all kind of duty back in your country. (It’s also an advantage in term of concentration)
- It is quite intensive and could give “headache” at the end of the day or boot camp.
MCSE Certification boot camps are probably the most common IT Certification boot camps, followed by Cisco CCNA or CCNP boot camps. MCSE boot camps are usually up to 30 days duration (particularly Windows 2003), and may cost up to US$10,000 or even more.
